Making Link+ Requests: Step-by-Step Instructions
This page has instructions on how to request a book through Link+, a group of California libraries including this one that let their patrons request books from any of the member libraries.
- The option to run a Link+ search appears as you search the Library Catalog.
Just select the Search Link+ button at the top or center of the screen:
Selecting this button will automatically pass through to the Link+ website either your search terms or the subject, title or author you are viewing at the time.
You may also search Link+ directly at http://csul.iii.com/.
- When you locate a title that you want in Link+, check its availability by selecting the link that reads "[n] LINK+ libraries have this item." If at least 1 library shows an AVAILABLE copy, you may proceed to the next step.
- To request the item in Link+, simply select REQUEST THIS ITEM and follow steps 4 and 5.
- First, select the institution through which you are affiliated with Link+:
- Public Library Card holders should select San Jose Public
- SJSU faculty, students and staff should select San Jose State University
- On the next screen after you submit this information, you will enter your
- Name
- Library Card barcode (the long number on the back of the card) or SJSU ID
- Library PIN if you forgot your PIN, contact the Library at (408) 808-2000.)
Then choose a Pickup Location and select Submit.
- Link+ will choose the item to be requested unless it is a multivolume set.
In that case, you will be able to choose the volume.
Once you make your first request, you are now logged in to Link+ and may request other titles from Link+ without having to enter your name, library card number (or student ID), and PIN again. Remember to log out of Link+ when you have no more requests to make.
For more information about Link+ requests, please see Link+Rules and Link+ Pick-Ups & Returns.
