San Jose State University eBooks
What's an ebook?
An ebook is an electronic book that can be read by using a personal computer or other digital device.
The Collections
The University Library ebook collections are available to the SJSU community 24/7. SJSU users will need either their Tower card or their library card to access the SJSU collections off campus. Here are instructions for how to access the library's resources from off campus.
The San Jose Public Library also has its own separate ebook collection. All users need a SJPL library card to access the San Jose Public Library collections remotely. SJPL customers may access the University Library electronic resources only while in the King library on either personal computers or wireless devices.
Which devices work with the library's ebooks? Use this chart for hardware and software requirements. As of Spring 2012, we suggest the Bluefire Reader app for iOS and Android mobile devices -- It is compatible with the Digital Rights Management (DRM) used in some of the library collections. Also, view a list of devices and mobile phone applications that are compatible with Adobe Digital Editions, the DRM used in some of the library collections.
