Disability Services
The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Library welcomes disabled visitors and provides many services adapted to the needs of people with disabilities. The SJSU Adaptive Technology Center also is located on the second floor of the library and is open to SJSU students, staff, and faculty registered with either the Disabilities Resource Center or the Employment Accommodation Resource Center.
Borrowing Services
- Proxy borrowing privileges for designated persons to check out or renew library items on behalf of patrons with disabilities are available upon request at the Circulation & Reserves Desk. Call 1-408-808-2304.
- You may renew your borrowed Library items by using the Telephone Renewal System at 1-408-808-2665 or using My Account online.
How To Manage "My Library Account" Online including Renewals - Depending on demand for specific items, extension of the loan period for items may be granted for special circumstances.
Paging Services
- Library materials will be paged upon request for patrons with disabilities.
- Patrons may request paging at any service desk

Printing and Photocopying Services
- Library staff will copy or print a reasonable number of items for persons with disabilities
- Patrons with disabilities may be asked to leave selections for later copying when there is no time for extended individual attention
